Our policy
Advance Staffing Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
We recruit, hire, assign, train, compensate, promote, and terminate without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, pregnancy or related medical conditions, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age (40 and over), physical or mental disability, genetic information, military or veteran status, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, Tennessee, or local law.
This policy applies to every aspect of the employment relationship, including our decisions about which associates to present for an assignment.
As a staffing agency we are covered as both an employer and an employment agency under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Tennessee Human Rights Act at Tenn. Code Ann. 4-21-101 and following.
What this means for client requests
We do not accept or fill orders that specify or imply a preference based on a protected characteristic. That includes requests phrased indirectly, such as preferences framed around age, accent, English fluency unrelated to the job, national origin, sex, or pregnancy.
If a client asks us to remove an associate from an assignment for a reason we believe is based on a protected characteristic, we will not do it. We will raise it with the client, and we will decline further placements with that client until it is corrected. A staffing agency that honors a discriminatory request is liable for it, and more to the point, it is wrong.
Reasonable accommodation
We provide reasonable accommodation to applicants and associates with disabilities, and for sincerely held religious beliefs and practices, throughout the application process and on assignment, unless doing so would impose an undue hardship.
To request an accommodation, call (901) 443-5589 and ask for the staffing desk, or email info@advancestaffingmemphis.com. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis, and requesting an accommodation will not affect your candidacy or your assignment.
How to raise a concern
If you believe you have experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, or retaliation, by us or at a client site, tell us. We investigate every complaint, including complaints about conduct at a client site, and we take the corrective action available to us.
Call (901) 443-5589 and ask to speak with the CEO, or email info@advancestaffingmemphis.com. Write to us at 2840 Bartlett Rd, Suite 5, Bartlett, TN 38134.
Retaliation is prohibited. No one will lose an assignment, lose hours, or be passed over for raising a concern in good faith or participating in an investigation.
You also have the right to go outside us
Nothing here limits your right to file a charge with, or participate in an investigation by, a government agency. You may contact:
- U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Memphis District Office. eeoc.gov, 1-800-669-4000.
- Tennessee Human Rights Commission. tn.gov/humanrights.
- Occupational Safety and Health, for workplace safety concerns. In Tennessee, TOSHA, through the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
You do not need our permission to contact any of them, and you do not need to come to us first.
Criminal history
We do not ask about criminal history on our employment application. Where a client assignment requires criminal background screening, it is conducted after a conditional offer, through a consumer reporting agency, with your separate written authorization, and any record is assessed individually against the nature and gravity of the offense, the time that has passed, and the requirements of the specific assignment.
A record does not automatically disqualify you from work with us.
Pay and employment terms
Advance Staffing Inc. is the employer of record for associates on assignment. We pay wages, withhold and remit payroll taxes, carry unemployment insurance, and maintain Tennessee workers compensation coverage. Employment is at will.
